Tires are $2 each. Concrete, brick and rock stack 12 inches maximum because of state DOT axle weight limits. Nothing else gets added at the end.
Why a trailer usually beats a roll-off at a house
This is not a knock on dumpsters. They are the right tool on a jobsite that runs for months. On a Tampa driveway for a weekend project, four things tend to decide it.
It sits on rubber, not on steel corners
A roll-off is a steel box that gets dragged into position on rails and rests on its own edges. The trailer rolls in on tires and parks. On pavers, on an older slab, or anywhere near a sprinkler line, that difference is the whole ballgame.
Your driveway is not the right-of-way
The permit question is mostly a street-placement question. Because the trailer is built to be backed into a residential driveway, most of our drops never raise it. Call us if the street is your only option and we will be straight about what that involves.
You load it on your clock
Nobody is standing in your yard waiting. Fill it Friday night, finish Sunday, call us Monday. The window is 1 to 3 days and there is no daily rate ticking inside it.
The price does not grow after the fact
$400 covers delivery, the window, pick-up, hauling and disposal, with the first ton included. After that it is $100 a ton and nothing else. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee, no rounding up at the scale.
How big the trailer actually is
Two trailers: one 7 ft wide by 14 ft long, one 8 ft wide by 14 ft long. Both carry 6 ft tall side walls, which is what lets a full garage go in one pull instead of two. Loosely packed that is roughly 10 to 12 cubic yards.
Real jobs that fit in one: a two-car garage cleared to the slab. A kitchen gutted down to studs. A weekend of downed limbs and fence sections after a storm. A bedroom set plus the mattress plus everything in the closet.
Heavy material is the exception. Concrete, brick, rock and dirt pack enormous weight into very little volume, so those stack 12 inches high and no more. That limit is Florida DOT axle weight law, not a policy we made up. Tell us what you are loading and we will say up front whether it is one pull or two.
When you actually want a roll-off instead
We rent dump trailers. We do not rent roll-off containers, and there are jobs where a roll-off is simply the better call. If you need a container parked on site for weeks while a crew works, if you are tearing down a structure rather than clearing one out, or if the volume is bigger than a full trailer holds in two pulls, a roll-off company is who you want.
Call anyway. If that is your job we will tell you on the phone rather than after you have paid a deposit. Sending someone to the right tool is cheaper for us than showing up to a job the trailer cannot do.

Is a dump trailer the same as a dumpster?

A dump trailer is a tandem-axle trailer on rubber tires that gets backed into the driveway and towed away when you are done. For most residential jobs the trailer is the easier of the two: it does not gouge concrete or rut grass, it usually needs no city permit on your own driveway, and it hauls off in one pull. Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Tampa?

In practical terms it swallows a full garage cleanout, a medium kitchen or bathroom renovation pile, a whole weekend of storm yard debris, or a bedroom's worth of furniture plus the mattress.
How long do I get to keep it?
The standard window is 1 to 3 days and there is no per-day charge inside it. If you know up front that you need longer, say so when you book and we will plan the pick-up route around it. If you are mid-job and running behind, call before the window closes and we will work out what is possible.
Will the trailer damage my driveway?
The trailer sits on rubber tires with a jack stand under the tongue, so the load spreads across the tires rather than concentrating on the steel corners of a container. That is the single most common reason Tampa homeowners pick a trailer over a roll-off, particularly on pavers or an older driveway.
